ByAl Majlis Times staff

FIFA plans to carry out inspection visits to the cities bidding to host matches at the 2030 World Cup finals.

The 2030 tournament will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, with celebratory matches in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to mark the competition's centenary.

The inspection visits are meant to assess the readiness of stadiums, infrastructure, accommodation and transport in the candidate cities ahead of the choice of host cities.

The World Cup is a major opportunity for host countries to develop infrastructure and boost tourism and investment.
