Athens forum: 18 UAE–Greece agreements worth over €12.75bn
The UAE's Minister of Foreign Trade, Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, said the UAE–Greece Strategic Forum held in Athens saw 18 agreements signed between Emirati and Greek entities, worth more than €12.75 billion, in the presence of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
According to the minister, the agreements cover digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, logistics, healthcare and food security. He said the partnership rests on a shared vision of growth and prosperity.
Dr Al Zeyoudi noted that non-oil bilateral trade between the UAE and Greece reached $606.3 million in 2025, describing the new agreements as a further step towards wider partnerships between the two business communities.
He added that the UAE is a global hub for trade, investment and market connectivity, while Greece is a strategic gateway to Europe, and that combining the two countries' strengths opens wider prospects for companies to expand across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The agreements form part of the UAE's push to broaden its economic partnerships in Europe and diversify its non-oil trade. Greece, a European Union member, is among the Mediterranean partners with which the UAE has growing political and economic ties.
