Hakimi hat-trick: Moroccan captain's first career treble leads PSG to 5-1 rout at Le Havre
Moroccan Achraf Hakimi scored the first hat-trick of his professional career and set up two goals as Paris Saint-Germain came from a goal down to beat Le Havre 5-1 away on Matchday 9 of Ligue 1.
The match was played on the evening of Friday 30 October 2026 at the Stade Océane, and the hosts struck first through Josh Maja in the 18th minute from a fast counter-attack. But Hakimi, wearing the captain's armband, set up Mika Godts for the equaliser in the 26th minute and then scored the go-ahead goal two minutes later from a Senny Mayulu pass.
In the second half Hakimi added the third with a direct free kick in the 55th minute, before switching back to playmaker with a through ball for Mayulu, who took advantage of the goalkeeper's rush off his line to make it four in the 62nd. The Moroccan captain completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute after good work by Godts on the left.
Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov preserved the margin with two late saves as Luis Enrique's side extended their winning run after beating Lyon 2-0 a few days earlier, while Le Havre remain bottom of the table. Hakimi was thus directly involved in all five of his side's goals, scoring or assisting, in one of his most complete performances in a Paris shirt since joining the club.
Al Majlis Analysis: Hakimi's hat-trick sums up how the modern full-back's role has changed. A player who is meant to start from deep was the most dangerous attacker on the pitch, scoring from open play and a set piece and creating chances for his team-mates. For Arab and Moroccan football in particular, the night reinforces Hakimi's standing as one of the most influential Arab players in European football, wearing the captain's armband at one of the continent's biggest clubs. For the team, Paris Saint-Germain's ability to come from behind away from home and score five shows the depth of the squad and gives them important momentum in the Ligue 1 race ahead of the coming rounds.
